Brigadier General Chris Gildenhuys, General Officer Commanding SA Army Armour Formation paid tribute to this well deserved Armour Sergeant Major: " I Wish to congratulate Warrant Officer 1 Nunky Alexander on receiving his 50 year good service medal. This is exceptional and well deserved. This is special. Nobody who knows Nunky Alexander should question his extraordinary commitment. He is certainly one of the most devoted Reserve Force soldiers that I have ever met. Sergeant Major Alexander, this medal embodies you as a person with long and your good service for five decades. Thank you on behalf of all those men and women who have benefited from your devotion to duty. Although you are no longer remunerated for your volunteered service, we appreciate your continued service to the Regiment you love so much. Good luck for the future!"
