SA Army Occupational Health and Safety Seminar, Thaba Tshwane, 22 to 26 August 2016

The annual South African Army Occupational Health and Safety Seminar took place at Thaba Tshwane, Pretoria from 22 to 26 August 2016. The seminar was aimed at informing Occupational Health and Safety practitioners in the SA Army on the subject matter and of those that have a direct or indirect influence on their work. Tshwane Metro Police Department, SA Police Service, Correctional Services and other companies and organisations were part of the exhibition. 

Various professional guest speakers presented at the seminar. The City of Tshwane in conjunction with Netcare 911 emergency service and ER 24 ambulance service performed a live demonstration on fire and rescue operation as part of an evacuation drill induction exercise.  

The SA Army achieved the following successes with the presentation of the Occupational Health and Safety Seminar:

  • Elaboration on the SA Army plan of action in order to ensure the SA Army is Occupational and Health compliance as prescribed by the Occupational and Health Act of1993.

  • The development and progress with the implementation of Occupational Health and Safety within the SA Army.
